Munch, munch, munch: Eat frequent, small portions and drink at least one litre of water a day to keep your metabolism high and your blood sugar levels constant. Eating constantly may sound ridiculous but it can stop you craving sugar and keep you feeling full.
Get meaty: Include protein with every meal; this could be a small piece of chicken or hummus and celery. This is the perfect excuse to have bacon and eggs for breakfast! Protein helps you to feel fuller for longer and it’ll help you build you muscles up.
Carbs are the enemy: Not all carbs just the delicious white ones! Put down your white bread, chips and doughnuts. White carbs are hard to digest and will leave you feeling bloated so save them for special occasions and replace them with wholegrain alternatives. The fibre in wholegrain will help eliminate toxins from your body and eliminate hunger pangs.
Don’t bloat: Fizzy drinks don’t really fill you up all they do is cause unwanted bloating, so avoid them at all costs. In fact anything with sweeteners in can have a bloating affect so do check what you’re eating before you put it in your mouth.
Never eat and run: Eating on the go often means that you grab an unhealthy snack and wolf it down without chewing properly. Aim to set aside at least 15 – 20 minutes for each meal as savouring your food will help you feel fuller for longer, and if you can’t do this plan ahead and take a healthy snack with you.
Drink, drink, drink: Drinking two litres of water per day before a special occasion will help you flush your system out and leave your skin glowing. For even better results add a dash of lemon to your water. Lemon acts as a diuretic to relieve bloating. Warm water and lemon can also aid digestion.
